Dear Parents,
Proverbs 21:5 tells us; “The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty,”
furthermore, Proverbs 15:22 says; “Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisors they succeed,” and finally, Proverbs 16:9
says, “The heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

God’s word makes clear the importance of planning while committing our hearts to Him. It is in that admonishment that Valley Christian Schools is launching its 2nd Strategic Planning Process. A Strategic Plan ensures that we fulfill the mission and vision of our school. In 2014, the leadership of Valley Christian School (Youngstown Christian School then) completed its first Strategic Plan, which resulted in the following major initiatives; 1) Accreditation, 2) Campus Expansion, 4) Mission Trip Opportunities for students, 4) Increased Teacher Compensation, 5) Enrollment Growth, 6) Technology Enhancements, 6) Facility Expansions and
Improvements (nearly $1,000,000), and 7) Academic Program Expansions.

A critical component of any strategic planning process is obtaining information and insights from each school stakeholder group
To that end, we are seeking parents to participate in one of five Focus Group sessions. A consultant will facilitate these focus
groups by leading a “brainstorming session” covering the following topics related to the schools; Prouds (accomplishments),
Regrets, Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats.

Following is a schedule of the Parent Focus Groups:
Monday, October 4th; 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Tuesday October 5th; (10:00 am-12:00 pm) and (1:00 pm – 3:00 pm) and (4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Wednesday, October 6th; ZOOM session (7:00 PM – 9:00 PM)

Please prayerfully consider joining us in this process to assist our school in accomplishing all that God has called us to do. Please

I appreciate your consideration.
