Meet Brittany
Brittany came to VCS in 6th grade from a public school. She immediately noticed the difference in the class sizes and attentiveness of the teachers. As her time at VCS continued, she also grew to appreciate how much her teachers inspired her. So much that she decided she wanted to pursue teaching as a profession.
After graduating from VCS, Brittany attended Youngstown State University where she met her husband Tom. Upon graduation, she returned to her alma mater to teach junior high social studies. Although four years later she felt the call to return to public education, she continues to share the gospel whenever the door is opened for her.
Brittany is another reason VCS seeks to build a strong foundation for our students each and every day.
“I would not be the teacher I am today if it were not for Valley Christian School”

Meet Marissa
Marissa has attended VCS since kindergarten. Throughout the years she has grown academically, socially, and excelled as a leader among her peers.
During her freshman year, Marissa decided to set a goal to attend The Military Academy at West Point after graduation. To sharpen her leadership skills she ran and was elected as a member of student council all four years of high school, serving as the secretary, vice president, and president. She is also currently the senior class president and secretary of the National Honor Society.
Marissa was honored as a valedictorian when she graduated. And as a result of all of her hard work and dedication she followed her dream of attending West Point. She attributes her success to God, the love and support of her parents, and the high expectations and guidance of her teachers through her years at VCS.
Marissa is another reason VCS seeks to build a strong foundation for our students each and every day.
Meet Sara
Sara Reichard graduated from YCS in 2000. Sara Came to Youngstown Christian in 6th grade with poor grades and low self-esteem. In her childhood, she experienced life through the lens of her mother’s drug addiction. She came to YCS after her father gained full custody of her and she moved back to Ohio. Sara recalls, “the teachers and staff of Youngstown Christian School didn’t just know where I came from, but they had a vision and hope for where I could be going.” Today Sara is a Registered Nurse and works with Valley Christian coordinating the co-curricular activities for middle and high school. After receiving her post Master’s degree as an Educational Specialist in Gifted Education, Sara founded our Valley Christian Lewis Center in Downtown Youngstown. Sara and her husband Josh live in Youngstown and have two daughters that both attend Valley Christian Schools.
